Supporting Local in Hudson, Wisconsin
One of the best parts about living and working in Hudson is the incredible small business community. These are the places that truly make this town feel like home.
As a local real estate agent, I’m constantly out and about, and over the years there are a handful of businesses that I keep coming back to. Not just because they’re great, but because of the people behind them.
Here are a few of my personal favorites that I recommend to clients all the time.
Ember & Bean Coffee
If you’ve ever received coffee from me, chances are it came from Ember & Bean Coffee.
We’ve partnered with them to treat our clients, and it’s been such a natural fit. The quality is always consistent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it’s one of those places that just feels good to walk into.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee or sitting down to catch up with someone, this is one of my go-to spots in Hudson.
San Pedro Cafe
You really can’t write an article about Hudson without mentioning San Pedro Cafe.
This place has been a staple in our family for close to 20 years, and it’s still one of our absolute favorites. The food is consistently great, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and it just has that energy that keeps you coming back.
But what really makes it special for us is the people. Over the years, we’ve gotten to know so many of the staff, and that’s something you just don’t find everywhere. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s a place that feels familiar every time you walk in.
And if you go, the duck nachos are a must. They’re one of those dishes you end up ordering every time, full of flavor and easily one of the most memorable things on the menu.
Whether it’s a casual night out or something to celebrate, San Pedro is always at the top of our list, and it’s one of those places I recommend to anyone moving to the area without hesitation.
Joe To Go
There’s something special about walking into a place where they already know your order, and that’s exactly what you get at Joe To Go.
This spot is all about quick, friendly service and great coffee. It’s perfect for busy mornings when you’re on the go but still want something done right. It’s those small, personal touches that make all the difference.
St. Croix Baking Company
St. Croix Baking Company has truly become a staple in our household over the past few years.
Charles is our go-to for birthday cakes, no question. At this point, my daughter won’t let a birthday go by without her chocolate cake from St. Croix Baking. It’s just part of the tradition now, and honestly, nothing else compares.
Beyond the amazing baked goods, what really stands out is the heart behind the business. Charles has been incredibly generous with our community events, always willing to help out with cookies and treats. That kind of support doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s a big part of why we continue to support them right back.
It’s one of those places where you’re not just getting something delicious, you’re supporting someone who genuinely cares about the community.
Why This Matters
These aren’t just businesses, they’re part of what makes Hudson such a great place to live. When people ask me what it’s like to live here, this is exactly what I think of: local spots, familiar faces, and places that feel like part of your everyday life.
If you’re considering making a move to the area, I always say—you’re not just buying a home, you’re becoming part of a community like this.
